A friend of mine brought this to a party and was kind enough to give me the recipe. As usual I tweaked it a bit and it quickly became a family favorite. Great on a cold Colorado evening. I cut down on the jalapenos if kids are eating it.

Ingredients

  • 2 can(s)
    great northern beans
  • 1-6oz can(s)
    jalapenos
  • 1 c
    chopped onions
  • 2-10 oz can(s)
    cream of chicken soup
  • 1 Tbsp
    oil
  • 2 tsp
    ground oregano
  • 1 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • 2 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 3 qt
    chicken broth
  • 3 clove
    garlic minced
  • 1 lb
    jimmy dean hot sausage
  • 1 lb
    chicken
  • 2-4oz can(s)
    green chilies
  • ·
    sour cream, montery jack cheese for serving

How to Make Chicken/Sausage White Chili Recipe

Step-by-Step

  1. In 5 quart dutch oven saute onion and garlic in oil until tender. Combine seasonings in small bowl; add half of the mixed seasonings to onions, garlic, and oil. Saute for one minute. Add sausage & chicken and coat with remaining seasonings. Cook until browned. Add beans and broth and bring to a boil. Simmer for two hours
  2. Stir in chilies, jalapenos, and undiluted soup ( cream chicken soup). Simmer another hour.
  3. Top with cheese and sour cream. Serve with tortillas or tortilla chips.
