This recipe comes from our church cookbook. These ladies can cook! This casserole is easy, looks pretty and is rich-tasting. It can be lightened by using fat free soups and sour cream.

Ingredients

  • 5-6
    chicken breasts, cooked and seasoned (or)
  • 2 can(s)
    white meat chicken
  • 1 can(s)
    cream of chicken soup
  • 1 can(s)
    cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 c
    sour cream
  • 1
    stack ritz crackers, crushed
  • 1/2 stick
    butter, melted
  • ·
    poppy seeds

How to Make Poppy Seed Chicken Casserole

Step-by-Step

  1. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces, or, if you use the canned chicken, drain and break up pieces.
  2. Mix the soups and sour cream in a large bowl.
  3. Add the chicken and mix.
  4. Put in a buttered casserole dish. Top with crackers and drizzle with melted butter. Sprinkle with poppy seed.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees about 30-35 minutes or until bubbly and light brown.
