This is a tangy sweet sauce you will probable will want to double. This recipe is great served over chicken and rice or noodles..great with grandma's biscuits too!

Ingredients For bacon cider sauce over chicken

  • 4 md
    skinless,boneless chicken breast halves
  • 1/4 tsp
    each salt and pepper
  • 4 slice
    bacon, uncooked and chopped
  • 1/2 c
    diced onion
  • 3/4 c
    unsweetened apple cider juice not vinegar
  • 1/2 c
    chicken broth, low salt

How To Make bacon cider sauce over chicken

  • I used bone-in thighs & it worked out great!

    Roll or pound each chicken breast between 2 sheets of plastic wrap to 1/2 inch thickness. Sprinkle each with salt and pepper evenly.

    Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove bacon; add chicken to the bacon drippings and cook 6 minutes on each side or until done. Remove chicken from pan and keep it warm under foil.

    Add onion to the pan; cook until tender. stirring constantly. Add cider and broth; bring to a boil, scraping pan to loosen the brown bits. Cook broth mixture until reduced to about 1/2 cup( about 5 minutes). Stir in the bacon; serve over chicken with rice or noodles.
