This is an easy and delicious healthy Chicken Cordon Bleu. No breading needed. This is a "U Gotta Try Me" kinda recipe. I Americanized this French dish by adding McCormick Grill Mates Applewood Rub. Cooking with Love & Passion. sw :)

Ingredients For applewood rub chicken cordon bleu

  • 4
    boneles skinless chicken breast, flattened
  • 4-6 oz
    good ham, thinly sliced
  • 4 oz
    gruyere cheese or swiss
  • 1/4 c
    extra virgin olive oil, divided
  • 2 Tbsp
    mccormick grill mates applewood rub-less if you wish
  • 2 tsp
    tarragon, dried
  • pinch
    sea salt to taste-i used white truffle sea salt

How To Make applewood rub chicken cordon bleu

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Add equal parts ham & cheese on chicken breast; add a few pinches of rub. Roll chicken breasts and secure with toothpicks. Rub chicken breasts with remaining rub and tarragon. Drizzle with olive oil.

    Preheat oiled grill pan to medium-high heat. Sear chicken face down for for 5-6 minutes until golden brown. Flip over and transfer pan to oven.

    Bake for 12-15 minutes until chicken juices run clear. Allow to rest then slice. Drizzle with remaining olive oil.
