These burgers are packed with yummy ingredients starring... bacon! The smoky flavors with the sweetness from the pineapple and barbecue sauce makes these burgers the perfect choice for your next backyard party!

Ingredients For smoky porky burgers

  • 1 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 1 lb
    lean ground pork
  • 1/4 c
    panko style breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 c
    onions (white or red), finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    fresh basil, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp
    smoked paprika
  • freshly ground black pepper, to taste (i always use mixed peppercorns)
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    finely chopped pineapple per burger
  • 1 1/2 slice
    cooked and crumbled bacon per burger
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    your favorite bbq sauce per burger
  • 2 slice
    jarlsberg cheese per burger

How To Make smoky porky burgers

    In a large mixing bowl, combine meat, panko, onion, basil, smoked paprika and black pepper. Mix with hands until well blended. Form patties and stuff burgers with pineapple, bacon and BBQ sauce, spreading evenly. Place the top patty and seal the edges. Place burgers in a pie plate, cover with cling film and transfer to the fridge for 1 hour

    Grill burgers at 500ºF preheated BBQ for 7 to 7 ½ minutes per side. If wanted, 3 minutes before the end of cooking, place 2 slices of Jarlsberg cheese per burger.
