This is my mom's recipe, but I have spiced it up! It has more beef too!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1
    onion, chopped
  • 1/2
    of a green pepper, chopped
  • 1 c
    raw rice
  • 2 c
    tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp
    dried oregano
  • 1 tsp
    dried parsley
  • ·
    salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 3/4 c
    hot water
  • OPTIONAL ITEM

  • 4 oz
    can, chunky style portabella mushrooms, drained

How to Make Tasty! Spanish Rice

Step-by-Step

  1. Brown the ground beef, onion and green pepper in a large pot.
  2. Add the raw rice and mix.
    Add the tomato sauce and hot water, stir.
    Add remaining ingredients.
  3. Mix and bring to a quick boil and simmer for 25 minutes.
  4. *** I omit the green peppers and I add the can of mushrooms. I HATE GREEN PEPPERS!!! LOL!!!!
