This adds lots of flavor to an inexpensive cut. Be sure to slice it across the grain when serving.

This flank steak needs to be added to your summer menu. We love the flavor sesame oil gives to dishes. Combined with the soy sauce and other ingredients it helps to make for one great marinade. The flavors soak into the meat and make the steak super juicy. The mushrooms enhance the flavors of the steak, too. Serve on top of the sliced flank steak for an easy and flavorful meal.

Ingredients For marinated flank steak & mushrooms

  • 2 lb
    flank steak
  • 2 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1/2 c
    soy sauce, low sodium
  • 1 tsp
    toasted sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1/4 c
    cooking sherry
  • 1 c
    sliced fresh mushrooms, your choice as to kind

How To Make marinated flank steak & mushrooms

  • Steak and marinade in a resealable container.

    Place steak in a container and add everything except the mushrooms.
  • Steak marinating in the fridge.

    Marinate in the refrigerator at least 4 hours up to overnight.
  • Grilling the steak.

    Remove steak from marinade and grill.
  • Marinade ingredients simmering in a saucepan.

    While grilling place marinade in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Simmer 5 minutes.
  • Mushrooms added to the marinade.

    Add mushrooms to the marinade.
  • Mushrooms cooking in the marinade.

    Continue cooking for a few minutes.
  • Steak covered in foil and resting.

    When steak is done, remove to a dish and cover with foil to rest for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Mushroom sauce poured over sliced flank steak.

    Slice the steak across the grain and serve with the mushroom sauce.
