My husband's mom makes this great meal for us when she visits us. She gave me the recipe so I could make it for my family. It is very yummy and very quick and easy to make. We love this meal. It can be made with either ground beef or for a healthy version ground turkey. We have had it both ways.

Ingredients For lasagna loaf

  • MEAT SAUCE
  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 clove
    garlic
  • 1 Tbsp
    parsley
  • 1/2 tsp
    basil, dried
  • 1/2 tsp
    oregano, dried
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 6 oz
    tomato paste
  • CHEESE FILLING
  • 1 c
    cottage cheese
  • 1
    egg
  • 1/4 c
    parmesan cheese
  • OTHER ITEMS
  • 2 can
    crescent rolls
  • 2 slice
    mozzarella cheese
  • 1 Tbsp
    milk

How To Make lasagna loaf

    Meat Sauce: brown meat in skillet & drain well. Add other meat sauce ingredients and simmer uncovered 5 minutes. Cheese filling: combine cheese ingredients.

    Unroll crescent rolls on greased cookie sheet. Press all seams together. Spread half of meat sauce lengthwise. Put cheese over. Then put remaining meat sauce on top. Top with 2 slices of mozzarella cheese slices.

    Fold ends of crescent rolls up to close and seal all seams. Brush with milk on top. Bake for 25 minutes at 375°.

    *Note: For added texture you could sprinkle with sesame seeds. Also to save time the meat sauce can be made ahead of time and put in refrigerator then put together to bake.
