Plain & simple chili ! Have tryed lots of hotdog chili over the years but seem to always come back to this one.Our kids & grandkids beg for the stuff!

Ingredients For hot dog chili

  • 1 lb
    ground round or 90% chuck
  • 1 c
    finely chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    oregano, dried
  • 1/2 tsp
    cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp
    dales steak seasoning sauce or soy sauce
  • 3 oz
    tomatoe paste ( 1/2 of small 6oz can )
  • 1 1/2 c
    water
  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar

How To Make hot dog chili

  • 1
    Brown ground beef in large frying pan til no longer pink over medium heat.Add onion and cook about 5 minutes, stir often,then add all spices & steak sauce plus tomatoe paste and stir well.Add water & sugar and bring to boil then reduce to simmer and cook uncovered 30 minutes adding extra water if needed. (I like mine a little saucy or thin) Store in frig. and freezes well.
