This is so much better than the stuff out of the box. You can taste all of the flavors and can modify it to your own liking. There will be minimal preservatives as well.

Hamburger Helper is a favorite weeknight meal and now you can make your own at home. We loved the choice of seasonings in this recipe. They add a lot of flavor to the dish. What makes this really special, though, is the melted cheddar cheese. Once that's incorporated it's fabulous and very creamy. The perfect recipe when you need to quickly get dinner on the table. Everyone will be asking for seconds.

Ingredients For homemade cheesy italian hamburger helper

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 sm
    onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp
    paprika
  • 1 tsp
    dried parsley
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1 1/2 c
    beef broth
  • 2 c
    rotini pasta
  • 1 can
    tomato sauce, 8 oz
  • 2 c
    shredded cheddar cheese

  • Browning ground beef with seasonings.

    Heat a larger skillet over medium heat. Brown the ground beef, paprika, parsley, onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Grease drained from the pan.

    Drain grease when browned.
  • Adding beef broth.

  • Adding milk to the pan.

  • Adding tomato sauce to the skillet.

  • Pouring noodles into the skillet.

    Cover and simmer 10-12 minutes. Stir frequently so it doesn't stick.
