I found these recipes in an old cookbook which has no name or any identifying labels.

saltines, crushed
2 lb
ground beef
1/2 c
ketchup

eggs
2 tsp
onion, chopped
2 tsp
parsley, chopped
1 tsp
worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
pepper
1/2 tsp
marjoram
1/2 tsp
nutmeg
1 can(s)
(10 1/2 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1 c
milk
2 Tbsp
butter
1 tsp
sherry
1 dash(es)
garlic salt
1 can(s)
(4 oz) sliced mushrooms, drained
1 Tbsp
chopped pimento

How to Make First Ladies / Salisbury Steak

Step-by-Step

  • 1Combine first eleven ingredients; mix well.
    Shape into oval patties
    Place in a deep dish.
  • 2Heat soup with milk, butter, sherry and garlic salt.
    Pour over patties; cover
  • 3Bake at 350 F for 45 minutes.
    During last 10 minutes, add mushrooms and pimento.
