dad's hamburger gravy!

When I was a kid growing up, we didn't have a lot of money. My dad used to make this, served often over sliced white bread or biscuits. It was a cheap and easy way to feed a family of five! Also it was delicious!

Ingredients For dad's hamburger gravy!

  • 4 c
    whole milk
  • 1-1 1/2 lb
    hamburger 80/20
  • 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2-3 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    pepper

How To Make dad's hamburger gravy!

    In a deep skillet, brown hamburger.

    Draing hamburger, reserving 1/2 cup grease. Set hamburger aside.

    Add grease back into the pan and heat over medium-high heat.

    Whisk in flour and stir until just starting to brown.

    Pour in milk, add salt & pepper. Stir over medium-high heat until bubbly and thickened.

    Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, toast or biscuits!
