This is the first Crock Pot recipe I tried, when I got my first one in 1986. I have tweeked it in the years since. My family loves it, and as my family has grown, so has my Crock Pot and recipe.

Ingredients For creamy swiss steak

  • 2 lb
    cube steak
  • 1 md
    onion, sliced
  • 1 can
    cream mushroom soup
  • 1 can
    cream of celery soup
  • 1/2 can
    water, in each can
  • 1 Tbsp
    garlic salt
  • 1 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 c
    flour, seasoned (enough to dredge meat in)
  • 3 Tbsp
    vegetable oil

How To Make creamy swiss steak

  • 1
    Season meat with garlic salt and pepper, then dredge in flour. (I like to season flour with garlic powder and season salt).

    Heat oil in skillet on high heat, add meat and brown.

    When meat is browned, add meat and onions to the crock pot in layers.

    Pour soups and water on top.

    Cook on low for 8-10 hours, or on high for4 - 6 hours.

    Serve over rice, and enjoy!
