Ingredients For chili steak

3 lbround steak, 1 inch thick

1 tspsalt

1/2 tsppepper

2garlic cloves, crushed

3 Tbspshortening
-
1/2 cgreen pepper, chopped

1/2 cchopped onion

1 1/2 csteak sauce
-
1/2 cstrong brewed coffee
How To Make chili steak

1Cut steak into six servings.

2Mix salt, pepper and crushed garlic; season both sides of steak with mixture.

3Let stand in a dish (glass or pottery) for about 1 hour.

4Pat steaks dry and fry in the shortening until browned, turning once.

5Remove from pan.

6Cook green pepper and onion in pan until soft; add chili and coffee.

7Return steaks to pan; bring to a boil.

8Reduce temperature, cover and cook 45 minutes.

9Serve with rice.
