Ingredients For altmodischer deutscher gulasch

  • 2 lb
    stew beef
  • 2 lg
    onions, sliced
  • 4 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp
    mixed dried herbs (thyme, rosemary, marjoram)
  • 2 tsp
    paprika
  • 2 lg
    carrots, diced
  • 4 md
    potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 can
    peeled tomatoes
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/2 bottle
    dry red wine
  • salt and pepper to taste

How To Make altmodischer deutscher gulasch

    Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add beef and cook until brown.

    Add the onion and cook until transparent.

    Add carrots, potatoes, herbs and paprika and stir for a few minutes until thoroughly combined.

    Add red wine, tomatoes and the spices, including salt and pepper, and simmer, covered, for 2 to 3 hours. Add water if necessary.

    Serve with dumplings, noodles or rice.
