Why Buttermilk Powder? Well, if you have buttermilk powder, you can mix it with water to get buttermilk… Question: Have you ever tasted buttermilk powder dissolved in water? I do not know what that stuff is, but is sure does not taste like buttermilk to me. However, when you add a bit to this recipe, it really gives the buttermilk a deep rich flavor; almost as if you are drinking fresh cultured buttermilk. Not all buttermilk powders are created equal. This is the brand, I have been using for years: https://www.amazon.com/Hoosier-Hill-Farm-Buttermilk-Powder/dp/B00V3M8XRG/ref=sr_1_2?crid=3RA2NEY0MFKCM&keywords=powdered+buttermilk&qid=1558454012&s=gateway&sprefix=powdered+butt%2Caps%2C160&sr=8-2
