I'm currently writing a book called Friday Frogs (available for free on Wattpad if you're curious). In the latest chapter, a character's coffee drink includes mint tea ice cubes. I don't know where I got the idea. But inspired by the scene in the story, my fellow writer and good friend from Wattpad, inkwellheart, decided to try the idea. This recipe is based on the conversation she and I had in the comments section of the aforementioned book. Let me know if you try it out and what variations if any you can recommend.

Ingredients For coffee with tea ice cubes

  • 1
    fresh pot of coffee
  • 1 bag
    your favorite tea

How To Make coffee with tea ice cubes

  • 1
Make tea to taste. My preferred go-to for tea is any of the fruity, naturally sweet teas that you don't have to add sugar to. My good friend and fellow writer inkwellheart made this with a batch of cranberry tea. (she's going to try chia next time)
  • 2
When the tea is properly steeped, let it cool down enough to safely poor into an ice cube tray.
  • 3
Make a fresh pot of coffee.
  • 4
Add ice cubes to coffee. You may have to experiment with the ratio of hot coffee to ice cubes, or cool the coffee down. The result should be a subtle (or strong) flavor of the tea you selected, infused with the coffee.
