In the amount of time it would normally take to microwave the water, mix in the packet and let it cool enough to be drinkable, I made real hot chocolate. It’s so, so easy. And especially tasty when you have made it yourself, I promise.
And don’t forget to enjoy the fruits (chocolates?) of your labor. Because homemade doesn’t have to be tedious.
But don't let it sit too long before drinking it - the chipotle gets stronger the longer you wait!

Ingredients

4 ozbittersweet or semi-sweet chocolate

1 pinchchipotle powder

1 pinchnutmeg

·orange zest
How to Make Grown-Up Hot Chocolate
- To prepare, combine milk and chocolate in a small saucepan over medium-low heat.
- Whisk constantly until the chocolate melts and the mixture comes to a simmer; then whisk in chipotle powder and orange zest.
- Pour into cups, dust with nutmeg, and serve.
