I created this lemonade for a contest for Food Friends and Fun. Since I love berries so much i knew that is what kind of lemonade I would make. I would have used Marionberries but they are only in Oregon so I used Blackberries and Raspberries.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c
    dried jamaica flowers (hibiscus)
  • 2 c
    raspberries
  • 2 c
    blackberries
  • 2 c
    lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 3 c
    water
  • 3 c
    castor sugar
  • 1/4 c
    fresh raspberries
  • 1/4 c
    fresh blackberries
  • 1/2
    lemon, cut into slices
  • 3-4 c
    water
  • ·
    ice cubes, to cool

How to Make BERRY TART LEMONADE

Step-by-Step

  1. Put 2 cups of blackberries, 2 cups of raspberries, and dried jamaica in a large saucepan with 1 cup of water. Heat on low until mixture is warmed up and berries are soft. Take off heat and let rest.
  2. Juice lemons until reaches 2 cups.
  3. Heat sugar and 3 cups of water in large pan. Heat just until the sugar has melted.
  4. Squish berries and jamaica with potato masher until all berries are smashed.
  5. Pour berry mixture into a wire mesh strainer or a large pan or bowl. Use the back of a spoon to squish all the juice out and only seeds are left.
  6. Put the berry juice, lemon juice, and sugar syrup together into large pitcher. Mix together.
  7. Add additional 3-4 cups of water depending upon taste.
    Add more sugar if needed. Add ice cubes to cool down. Refrigerate.
  8. Serve each glass with couple of each kind of berry and a slice of lemon.
