café dulce de leche

A sinfully decadent cup of coffee made special with the addition of Kahlua and Dulce de Leche. Muy Bien! Dulce de Leche is sold in cans and is found in the Hispanic aisle of larger grocery stores. It's made by cooking milk, sugar and cinnamon until it's thick and caramel-colored. It has a sweet caramel-like taste, and it's used in many Latin dessert recipes. Using caramel sauce or condensed milk in place of Dulce de Leche is not recommended, because you'd still miss out on that unique 'je ne sais quoi' quality that you'll get only from using the real deal.
