I love the freshness from this old fashioned eggnog. I look forward to this every year. It is Christmas in a bowl.

I never worry about the raw eggs. I have made this multiple times without incident.

If serving to children, omit alcohol and add 1 teaspoon of rum extract.

Also, save egg whites and make meringue cookies or Pistachio Meringue Pie.

    egg yolks
  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp
    nutmeg
  • 3 1/2 c
    whole milk
  • 2 1/2 c
    heavy cream
  • 1 Tbsp
    vanilla
  • 1/2 c
    rum
  • 1/2 c
    brandy

How to Make Cuisiniere Bannworth's Old Fashioned Raw Eggnog

Step-by-Step

  1. Take 12 yolks and add sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Beat until creamy.
  2. Add milk, cream, and vanilla. Continue to beat for 3 minutes.
  3. Add suggested rum and brandy or tailor to your tastes.
  4. Serve chilled in a eggnog or punch bowl.
