Henry Ramos invented this cocktail at his New Orleans restaurant, Meyer's, in about 1880. The cocktail must be shaken until frothy, or you'll lose the whole point - which is the fizz.

Ingredients For ramos gin fizz

  • 1 1/2 oz
    gin
  • 1 Tbsp
    simple syrup
  • 1/2 md
    egg white
  • 1 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 2 oz
    half and half
  • 4
    drops orange flower water

How To Make ramos gin fizz

  • 1
    Half fill a cocktail shaker with crushed ice. Add gin, simple syrup, egg white, lemon juice, cream and flower water. Shake well and strain into a cocktail glass.
