bourbon and honey

Bourbon and honey is a southern classic. It was once considered a "women's drink". But in my opinion, it is just an awesome drink. I add thyme to my version because it makes the woodiness of the bourbon mellow and the honey pop. I highly suggest quality bourbon. If you are spending less that $30 for a bottle of bourbon, you quite possibly might be drinking gut-rot. Life is too short for bad whiskey. Use the good stuff. In my opinion, a fruity, floral nose, medium finish bourbon goes best with this recipe. I love Angel's Envy, 4 Roses single barrel, or Dickles in this cocktail.

method Stove Top

How To Make bourbon and honey

  • 2
Choose a quality bourbon (NOT a Jack Daniels grade. In my opinion, life is too short for subpar whiskey.)

Chill two tumblers in the freezer. Divide chilled lemon juice/honey mixture between the two tumblers. Stir in 2 shots (or more?) per tumbler. Serve with a spring of thyme in the glass. Enjoy.
