I remember my Grandma making this recipe when I was little. It is so creamy and delectable. There is nothing better than food to bring back those sweet memories.

Ingredients For grandma's rice pudding

  • 2 c
    water
  • 1 c
    arborio rice
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 3 c
    half and half
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1
    cinnamon stick
  • 1
    piece lemon peel

How To Make grandma's rice pudding

    Bring water to a boil in pot, add rice, salt and butter. Cover, lower the heat to simmer and cook for 20 minutes.

    Remove rice mixture from pot and put into double boiler. Add half and half, sugar, cinnamon stick and lemon peel. Cover and cook 45 minutes. Remove lemon peel and cinnamon stick.

    Pour rice mixture into a shallow 2 Qt. casserole and allow to cool. Rice mixture will thicken as it cools. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg. Enjoy!
