This is a delicious pie. It is easy to make.The slight almond flavor on the bottom of the crust really makes this pie delicious. Also it is not an overly sweet pie. The flavors meld so well together.

Ingredients For cranapple almond pie

  • 1
    pie shell not baked (frozen, refrigerated or home made)
  • 5-6
    apples, peeled, cored and cut in to wedges
  • 1 1/4 c
    almond paste (in my recipes) or store bought)
  • 1 c
    dry cranberries, or craisins
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon divided
  • 1/3 c
    sugar granulated
  • 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1/3 c
    chopped almonds
  • 7 Tbsp
    cold butter small pieces chopped
  • 1/2 c
    oatmeal (rolled oats) like quaker
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar

How To Make cranapple almond pie

    Heat oven to 375 degree''s. Roll the almond paste between 2 sheets of waxed paper to make a 9 inch circle. Press in to bottom of pie shell gently.

    mix apples,cranberries,sugar and 1 teaspoon of the cinnamon together. Put in pie shell.

    In a bowl mix together the 1 teaspoon of cinnamon,flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, and almonds

    Cut the butter in to the flour mixture. Get in there with your hands and mix until it becomes a crumb mixture.

    Take the crumb mixture and spoon on top of the filling. Bake in oven at 375 degree's 50-60 minutes, or until nice and browned.
