There are times when I'm so hungry for something sweet and I really don't feel like taking the time to bake a cake, a pie, or something else that takes a lot of time. Those are the times when I pull out this recipe. Once the apples are sliced, the entire recipe takes about 10 minutes and I've got my wonderful sweet snack. I personally love to eat it warm. (I peel and core and slice the apples while I'm sitting watching television. Just makes it go a little easier.) Give this recipe a try!

How To Make microwave apple crisp

  • 1
Peel apples, core them and then cut into slices. In a bowl, toss the apples with the cinnamon and the sugar. Spritz about a tablespoon or two of water over top, and spritz about two tablespoons of lemon juice from a bottle, and then toss the apples again. Spread the apples evenly in an 8 inch square glass baking dish. A deep dish glass pie plate will also work.

In a medium bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, oats, flour, cinnamon and allspice. Sprinkle this topping evenly over the apples. It should be crumbly. If it isn’t, add a little more oats and a little more flour until it resembles crumbs. Cook on full power in the microwave for 10 to 12 minutes, until apples can easily be pierced with a knife. Do NOT microwave more than 12 or 13 minutes because the topping will burn and won’t be good. The apples will be done perfectly in that amount of time. If you are not using it right away, you can always dish it out onto plates and heat up in the microwave for 15 or 30 seconds just to warm up before serving. This is an amazing recipe.
