The Crew and I love the flavor of this sweet, fruity treat. We even recruited some mini Crew members for the taste test, Caroline (8 months) and Susannah Grace (19 months)! It was a winner all the way around. The Test Kitchen
2 cspring water
1/2 cirish oatmeal or scottish porridge (not quick cook)
1 tsppure vanilla extract
1 tspdark brown sugar (optional)
1/2 cvanilla yogurt, whole milk (stonyfield yobaby) optional
1 pkgfrozen strawberries (any frozen fruit)
How to Make Baby Food (8mos+) Strawberry Oatmeal "Ice Cream"
- In a saucepan (preferably cast iron), mix water, oats, vanilla, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Cook on medium heat until oats are soft.
- Place in a glass bowl in refrigerator until cool. Should also almost become gummy.
- Place chilled oatmeal, yogurt, and frozen strawberries in blender. Serve in bowl. Place leftover in freezer.
