Ingredients For quick and easy apple dumplings

  • 2
    (21 ounce apple pie filling
  • 2/3 c
    water
  • 1 tsp
    butter or margarine
  • 1
    (10 count) canned refrigerator biscuits
  • cinnamon-sugar to taste (approximately 1 tablespoons of each)

How To Make quick and easy apple dumplings

  • 1
Mix apple pie filling with water. Place in skillet of melted butter and bring to a boil over medium heat with tight fitting cover on skillet.
  • 2
Cut each biscuit in quarters and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  • 3
Drop coated biscuit pieces into bubbling apples; sprinkle left over sugar-cinnamon blend in skillet of apples and biscuits for added flavor, taking into consideration your taste. (I like sweet desserts and you may prefer as is without the additional sugar and cinnamon.) Reduce heat to simmer on low.
  • 4
Cover and cook for 30 minutes; do not lift lid until biscuits are cooked. Serve at once with milk or ice-cream. *Tip* When I add the biscuit dumplings to the apple filling, I also sprinkle some of the remaining sugar and cinnamon atop the apple filling for flavor enhancement purposes. (You may prefer half the amount of Cinnamon than what I use. (We love Cinnamon at my house and it's great for our health too.)) Oooooh la la ala mode!
