This recipe has been a long-time family favorite. Granny used to make the best plum cobbler and jelly. After she passed away in 2004, her recipe box disappeared. After a few years, some of her recipes would pop up mysteriously. I was so thrilled when Mom found this one in a box of my great-aunt's things.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

This plum cobbler is sweet, tart, and delicious. The plums have a slight cherry flavor that is enhanced by the marzipan (almond) shortbread topping. The plums are cooked for a bit before adding the topping. This allows the fruit to soften and the topping to bake to a lovely golden brown. A delicious cobbler dessert for summertime.
