The perfect cobbler is in the topping! Try this version and see if you agree. This is my husband's favorite cobbler topping. You can use this cobbler topping on any cobbler of your choice, and you know it will be a success! I included my favorite recipe for apple filling. Serve with some ice cream, and you have a perfect fall dessert! Fast and easy to make. Enjoy!

    cup pancake mix
  • 1
    cup sugar
  • 1/2
    tablespoon cinnamon

    beaten egg
  • 1
    cube real butter, melted

    granny smith apples
  • 1/2
    cup of sugar
  • 2
    tablespoons flour
  • 1/2
    teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4
    teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4
    teaspoon salt
  • 1
    teaspoon mexican vanilla
  • 1/4
    cup water
  • 1
    tablespoon butter softened

How To Make bonnie's cobbler topping with apple filling

    PREPARE THE TOPPING: In a small mixing bowl combine the pancake mix, the sugar, cinnamon, beaten egg and the melted butter. Mix well. Set aside.

    Peel and slice the apples. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Butter a 9 inch baking pan.

    PREPARE APPLE PIE FILLING: In a large mixing bowl combine the sliced apples, and sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt vanilla and water. Toss to mix all together. Pour into the greased pan, and dot with the the 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the topping mixture, and bake in the oven for 35 to 40 minutes until done. Serve warm with ice cream. Enjoy!
