This dessert is superb on a nice fall night with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. You can't go wrong with this. This makes a nice amount, a real crowd-pleaser!

Blue Ribbon Recipe

An old-fashioned blackberry dumpling recipe you can imagine your grandma making. It's one of those getting-back-to-basics recipes that taste like pure love. Once cooked, the blackberries are tender and burst slightly giving the sauce a beautiful purple color. The dumplings are simple drop dumplings that are firm, but light enough that they float in the sweet blackberry sauce. They taste like little balls of butter cobbler. Since this is served warm, when you spoon it over the cold vanilla ice cream it melts a bit. Yum!
