A tasty little recipe that's made quicker by the use of canned pie filling. I haven't tried it using fresh apples, but I'm guessing you'd just have to make sure you adjust the baking time to fit. I'd love to hear how it works if you do that!

Ingredients For apple streusel cobbler

  • 1 can
    apple pie filling (i used wilderness more fruit)
  • 1/2 c
    chopped nuts (i used pecans, but walnuts are good, too)
  • 1/2 c
    oats, quick or regular
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1/4
    butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 c
    firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 c
    unsifted flour
  • 1/4 c
    cold butter or margarine
  • 1 can
    14 oz. sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk)

How To Make apple streusel cobbler

    Heat oven to 375 F. Spread apple pie filling in greased 9-inch square baking pan.

    In medium bowl, beat eggs. Add sweetened condensed milk, melted butter, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix well. Pour over apple filling.

    In medium bowl, combine sugar and flour; cut in cold butter until crumbly. Add nuts and oats. Sprinkle over mixture in pan.

    Bake 50-55 minutes or until set. Cool. You can serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired. Refrigerate leftovers.
