This Apple Crisp dessert is always a hit. Packed with flavor and a beautiful mix of spices, this is a great way to enjoy your freshly harvested apples!

Ingredients For apple crisp

  • FILLING
  • 5 c
    apples such as honey crisp, empires or granny smith (about 4 large apples), peeled, cored and sliced
  • 2 Tbsp
    freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 c
    granulated sugar
  • 3/4 c
    brown sugar, such as demerara
  • 1 Tbsp
    unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground ginger
  • 1/8 tsp
    freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • TOPPING
  • 1 c
    rolled oats
  • 3/4 c
    unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, such as demerara
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp
    ground himalayan sea salt
  • 1/2 c
    unsalted butter, melted

How To Make apple crisp

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 350ºF. In a large mixing bowl, add sliced apples and pour over lemon juice; stir to coat. Add sugars, flour, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and vanilla extract; stir well to coat the apples. Transfer to a pie plate with the juice and set aside.

    In a another bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and sea salt; stir. Add melted butter and mix until the mixture is crumbly. Spoon evenly the crumble mixture on the filling and transfer to the preheated oven. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes or until top is nice, crispy and golden. Cool off for 15 minutes before serving with vanilla ice cream
