How To Make out of season strawberry pie

  • 1
Have a 9 inch crust baked and cooled. Drain your strawberries in a colander over a bowl.

While the strawberries are still frozen, cut them into fourths. Save remaining juice to add with water, to make 2 cups, for use later..

In a saucepan add gelatin, sugar and corn starch, stir to blend well.

Once strawberries have thawed. Add the juice, (may not be a lot) and water, to measure 2 cups. Slowly mix into the gelatin mixture in the pan. Bring to a boil, and continue cooking until thickened. About 5 minutes. Set aside to cool.

Once thickening is cool; fold in strawberries. Pour thickened strawberry filling into prepared pie crust.
  • 6
Refrigerate 2 - 3 hours. Add whipped cream before serving. Enjoy!
