I made this dessert for the holiday and it was delicious..everyone wanted the recipe...I didn't have graham crackers and didn't want to go to the store so I used buttery cracker crumbs.
The crackers gave the dessert a wonderful salty /sweet taste..I think you will like this too...

Step-by-Step

  1. Crush crackers in plastic bag using a rolling pin. Mix melted butter with the crumbs. Press onto bottom and up sides of an 8 or 9-inch dish or pie pan. Chill until firm.
  2. Microwave the chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons of butter in 30 second interval, stirring until melted after each 30 seconds.
(Brush the tops of 8 whole crackers with some of the chocolate mixture then set them in the fridge to chill, this step is optional.)
Carefully brush or spread chocolate mixture over bottom and sides of crust. Chill to set for 5 minutes.

  4. Top with remaining banana slices; and spread with remaining topping. Chill for 4 hours or more until set.
  5. Remove from fridge for a few minutes before serving...it will be easier to cut. Just before servings garnish with the chocolate covered crackers, if desired.
