Thss a delicious Cider sugar glazed pie. I added cider with a simple option for store bought crust if desired. Enjoy!

Ingredients For apple pie glazed with cider sugar glaze

    pie crusts ready made,or homemade
  • 3/4 c
    granulated sugar
  • 3 Tbsp
    flour
  • 7-8
    peeled and sliced apples
  • 2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp
    ginger
  • 1/4-1/2 c
    raisins
  • 2 Tbsp
    fresh apple cider
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter
  • GLAZE
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 c
    powdered sugar
  • 3 Tbsp
    fresh apple cider

How To Make apple pie glazed with cider sugar glaze

    Place crust dough in to pie pan. Heat oven to 350 degree's.

    peel and slice apples in to 16 slices each. Mix sugar,spices,and flour together. Toss with the apple slices ,and raisins in a bowl.

    drizzle the cider over the apples. Dot with butter. Place top crust on top of it,and crimp edges. Put slits in top of crust to vent for steam. Cover outside of crust with foil. remove foil half way through baking time. Place in oven and bake about 40 -50 minutes, or until apples are tender. Pie is golden brown.

    Making the icing. Combine all ingredients together and stir until blended well. Remove pie from oven. While pie is still hot frost the pie. Cool and serve!
