These snowball cookies are a must for Christmas, New Year's and weddings. They are delicious and are very easy to make. I usually double the recipe because they tend to disappear quickly.

Ingredients For snowball cookies

  • 2 stick
    butter (16 tablespoons or 1 cup)
  • 1/4 c
    powdered sugar (plus extra 2 cups in a shallow dish/bowl for coating baked cookies)
  • 2 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbsp
    water
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans

How To Make snowball cookies

    Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.

    Using electric hand mixer, cream together the butter and 1/4 cup powdered sugar.

    Add vanilla, water and flour and mix well with sturdy spoon.

    Stir in pecans.

    Using hands, form mixture into small balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets or cookie sheets lined with parchment paper.

    Bake at 300 degrees F for 25 to 30 minutes.

    Working quickly, roll in powdered sugar while still hot.

    Let cool, then roll in powdered sugar again.

    Store in an airtight container.
