These festive cookies look like they are a lot of work but are much easier than cut out cookies. They start with a box of cake mix and are frosted with melted white chips and decorated with semi sweet chocolate chips and candy corn.

  • 1 box
    white cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • 2 lg
    eggs
  • 1/3 c
    butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 c
    white chips
  • 1 tsp
    shortening
  • 1/2 c
    semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 c
    candy corn

How To Make frosted snowman cookies

    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a medium bowl stir together the cake mix, eggs, and butter until combined. Form dough into 18 balls. Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Flatten balls slightly. Bake cookies for 10 minutes or until golden brown around the edges. Let cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes to cool, then remove to a wire rack to finish cooling.

    In a microwave safe bowl add the white chips and shortening. Microwave on high for 20 seconds. Stir. Repeat 1-2 more times or until chips are melted and smooth. Spread over cookies. Place the semisweet chips on cookies to form eyes and mouths. Place candy corn on cookies to form noses.
