This may require about 3-4 Alumunim cookie sheets. l like to buy the throw aways cause this is a messy project. Have about 4 seperate bowls of which you can melt and then transfer the melted chocolate to, to dip and swirls the long pretzels. I found some plastic containers were long, so i melted the various chocolates in other containers, then poured it into the longer ones , so I could lay the pretzels down in the melted chocolate. You want to spray your utensils with pam cooking spray so as the chocolate cools it doesnt stick to the spoon and USE METAL UTENSILS easier to clean up with.

Melt chocolate in microwave with about a tablespoon of butter.. Watch it in the micro.. about 2 minutes, open and stir.. then reset the heat and do it again. Chocolates should be glossy. Have children wear plastic gloves and supervise them while chocolate is hot. Moderate cooling from removal of micro is recommended with stirring to keep it glossy.

Have bowls with melted chocolate, Broken candy cane bits, broken m n m bits or any other candy crunched you want to dip. Take a long pretzel log and roll it in the chocolate of choice, momentarily let it cool. then roll into butter scotch or peppermint as you like. Then while slighty firm.. roll into the candy crunched up. I let my stand up right in paper cups or glasses to set. You can lay them on parchment paper or wax paper.. to chill. Place your tray of completed pretzels in the fridge on the cookie sheet. when completely cooled transfer to containers with plastic lids and keep refridgerated. I also make my Chow mein candies and when cool put them in small candy papers to decorate. I take the pretzels while firm and chilled and tye four of them with bright ribbon. I store them in plastic bags from the birthday counter. the long plastic ones with patterns.. and keep chilled until i give it as a gift. I decorate boxes and put the pretzels and candy cups of chocolate chowmein candy into the box.. and give with bows on the top. They can just be given in decorative plastic bags too. They make a nice accompaniment to birthday parties, anniversary parties, holidays parties.. You can buy the pretzels in large plastic Containers and do up to four dozen. Get creative with chocolate peanut butter. crushed nuts , dried fruits cut into tiny pieces.. what ever you enjoy.
