Ingredients

  • VANILLA CUPCAKES

  • 1 3/4 c
    cake flour
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 c
    vegetable oil
  • 2 Tbsp
    margarine
  • 1/2 c
    sour cream
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2/3 c
    whole milk
  • 1 large
    egg
  • NUTELLA FROSTING

  • 1/4 c
    Nutella or nocciolata
  • 4 Tbsp
    butter, softened
  • 3/4 c
    confectioner’s sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract

How to Make Vanilla Nutella Cupcakes

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  2. In another bowl, whisk oil, margarine, sour cream, vanilla extract, milk, sugar, and egg.
  3. Slowly add in flour mixture until a nice smooth batter forms.
  4. Pour cupcake batter into a lined cupcake pan.
  5. Bake for about 20 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean. Let cool in pan.
  6. In the bowl of your mixer, beat butter until smooth and whipped.
  7. Add confectioner’s sugar until a thick smooth frosting forms. Add Nutella and vanilla extract.
  8. Once the cupcakes have cooled completely, spread frosting liberally on each cupcake. If desired grate a chocolate hazelnut candy over each cupcake.
