Ingredients

FOR THE CAKE

1 c
butter at room temperature
1 c
water at room temperature
1/4 c
cocoa
2 c
sugar
2 c
flour
1/8 tsp
salt
2 large
eggs at room temperature
1 tsp
baking soda
1/2 c
sour cream at room temperature
1 tsp
cinnamon
1 tsp
pure vanilla extract

FOR THE FROSTING

1/2 c
butter at room temperature
1/4 c
cocoa
1/4 c
plus 2 tablespoons milk
1 box
confectioners' sugar, sifted (1 pound)
1/2 tsp
pure vanilla extract
1/2 c
chopped pecans, toasted

Step-By-Step

1FOR THE CAKE:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine butter, water, and cocoa in saucepan over medium heat; heat until butter melts.
2Add sugar, flour, salt, eggs, soda, sour cream, and vanilla; mix well
3Pour into a 15x10x1-inch jelly roll pan. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Frost while still hot.
4FOR THE FROSTING:

Combine butter, cocoa, and milk in a saucepan; bring to a boil.
5Add the confectioners' sugar and vanilla mix well with electric mixer.
6Stir in pecans, and pour over the cake. Spread to cover the hot cake.
