Perfectly light, soft and not overwhelmingly sweet... just how a teacake ought to be! This is a great recipe and my grandson, in particular, became an instant fan. (He suggested adding icing, but I like them as is.)

  • 1 c
    shortening
  • 4
    eggs
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 4 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 4 c
    flour

How To Make teacakes grandma-style

    Cream shortening, add sugar and eggs.

    Combine with rest of ingredients.

    Roll out, cut and bake 8 - 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
