These are beautiful holiday cookies and so delicious! These are my children's favorite (mine, too)!

Ingredients

  • 1 c
    butter, softened
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 c
    all purpose flour, sifted
  • 3/4 c
    each, red and green candied cherries
  • 1/2 c
    pecans, in pieces
  • 3/4 c
    coconut, flaked

How to Make Santa's Whiskers Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Cream together butter and sugar; blend in milk and vanilla extract.
  2. Stir in flour, cherries and pecans.
  3. Form into 2 "logs" - each about 2" in diameter and 8" long.
    Roll in coconut.
    Wrap in wax paper and chill several hours or overnight. (Can be frozen at this point, too).
  4. Slice chilled cookie dough 1/4" thick; place on ungreased or parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 12 minutes or until edges are golden.
