Made these the first time for a co-worker of my husband who asked him if I would make them. To my surprise they were really good.
Nice around Thanksgiving when you have an extra can of pumpkin you want to use up.

  • 2 c
    sifted flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp

  • 1 tsp
  • 1 c
    butter or margarine
  • 1 c
  • 1 c
    cooked or canned pumpkin (never tried cooked)
  • 1/2 c
    walnuts chopped
  • 1/2 c
    dates or raisins chopped (i use raisins)

  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 c
    confectioners sugar
  • 4 Tbsp
  • 3/4 tsp

How to Make Pumpkin Cookies w/frosting


  1. Sift flour and baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Cream butter and sugar together. Add pumpkin and egg, beat well. Add flour mix all at once. Stir to obtain a smooth batter, add nut, fruits and vanilla.
  2. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 10 min.
    Combine butter, milk and brown sugar in saucepan. Heat to boiling and boil for 2 minutes stirring constantly. Remove from heat and cool. Stir in confectioners sugar and vanilla.

    Best when frosted.
