Sounds like Ma's Mexican Wedding Cookies but with pecans. Got this from a book I read.

Ingredients For pecan butter balls

  • 2 c
    pecans
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1 c
    melted butter
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • powdered sugar

How To Make pecan butter balls

  • 1
    Oven to 325 degrees. Chop pecans in blender or food processor until you have 2 cups. Combine all but powdered sugar. Roll one inch balls with floured hands and bake on parchment paper lined baking sheets. Bake 20-25 minutes. Remove on parchment paper to let cool slightly. While still warm, shake in paper bag with powdered sugar. Put back on paper and add more powdered sugar while they cool.
