One of my favorite cookies is the big, soft lofthouse cookies. These cookies you see packaged up with bright colored frosting in the grocery store bakeries. So good with a cold glass of milk.

Ingredients For lofthouse soft sugar cookies

  • 1/2 c
    butter, softened
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1/2 c
    sour cream
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 3 c
    flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • FROSTING INGREDIENTS
  • 2 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbsp
    milk
  • 1/2 c
    butter, softened

How To Make lofthouse soft sugar cookies

    Preheat your oven to 350°

    With your mixer cream together 1/2 cup softened butter with 1 cup sugar and mix for couple of minutes until smooth.

    Add in sour cream,eggs and vanilla and mix well.

    in a large bowl sift together flour,baking powder,baking soda,and salt.

    Slowly add the dry ingredients, into the wet and mix well.

    Bake for 12-13 minutes, then immediately remove from oven. The cookies appear to be under baked a bit but this is what you want. Transfer cookies to cooling rack.

    To make frosting, beat butter with a mixer about 30 seconds, then add in powdered sugar, one cup at a time,add in vanilla and 1 tablespoon of milk. Use a knife to slather each cookie with frosting. Top with sprinkles.The color of frosting is your choice
