grandma's best peanut butter cookies

My family won't let too much time pass, before they beg me to make these delicious peanut butter cookies that melt in your mouth. They don't have the normal fork crossing on the top...but more of a crackled sugar type cookie. Super yummy! Note: I've made this with chunky style peanut butter, too. And it's just as good or better.

Ingredients For grandma's best peanut butter cookies

  • 1 c
    brown sugar, packed
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    butter flavored crisco
  • 1 c
    creamy peanut butter (skippy)
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2
    eggs, large
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 c
    flour (1/4 cup more, if needed)

    1.) Cream together the sugars, Crisco, peanut butter. 2.) Add eggs and vanilla. 3.) Sift the dry ingredients together and add gradually until blended well. 4.) Roll into tablespoon size balls. 5.) Roll cookie dough balls into sugar. 6.) Place on cookie sheets...Do NOT mash with fork in normal "peanut butter cookie" fashion! *** Bake at 350 oven for 11-13 minutes.
