Ingredients For fruit streusel bars

1 1/2 call purpose flour

1 cbrown sugar, light
-
1 tspsalt
-
3/4 cbutter, cold
-
2 cquick, or old fashioned oats (uncooked)

1 1/2 cfruit preserves (strawberry)

2 Tbspbutter (additional)

1/2 cchopped, nuts
How To Make fruit streusel bars

1Combine flour, brown sugar, salt. Cut in butter with pastry blender until mixture is crumbly.Stir in oats & blend thoroughly. Set aside 1 1/2 cups of this mixturefor topping.

2Press remaining mixture evenly over the bottom of a greased 13 X 9 baking pan.

3Spread preserves over crumbs within 1/4" of sides of pan.

4Cut in 2 tablespoons of butter into reserve crumb topping; stir in nuts. Sprinkle over preserves & press down lightly.

5Bake in a 375 degree oven for 25 - 30 mins. or until lightly brown.

6Cool in pan and cut into bars.
