Chocolate Hazelnut Cookies

Not sure where this recipe came from but I have been making them for years, they are my husbands favorite!
*Side note- You can subsititue walnuts for the hazelnuts, they are still yummy!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c
    butter, room temperature
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 13 oz
    jar chocolate hazelnut spread (nuttela)
  • 1 oz
    chocolate, unsweetened, melted
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2
    eggs
  • 2 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 c
    chopped, hazelnuts ( if raw, roast & skin)

How to Make Chocolate Hazelnut Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. In large mixing bowl, beat butter & sugars until combined.
  2. Add chocolate hazelnut spread, melted chocolate and vanilla. Beat until combined.
  3. Add eggs, one at time, mixing well after each.
  4. Combine flour, cinnamon, soda, powder & salt
  5. Beat as much of the flour mixture into creamed mixture with mixer as you can. Stir in any remaining flour.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
  7. Drop by tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  8. Bake in a 350' degree oven for about 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are just set.
  9. Let cool on cookie sheets for 2 minutes and than transfer to wire rack.
