My favorite things in a cookie! My daughter adjusted an Oatmeal recipe to include them all, Choc. chips, oatmeal, cranberries, then spiced em up, soo good.

Ingredients For carol's choc-oat-cran-chip cookies

  • 13/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt (optional)
  • 1 tsp
    heaping teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1 1/4 c
    packed light brown sugar
  • 1 c
    butter (softened) we used 1/2 c butter and 1/2 c regular or buttered crisco
  • 1/2 c
    granulated sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 2 Tbsp
    milk
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 c
    quick or old fashioned oats
  • 2 c
    12 oz. pkg. of semi-sweet chocolate morsels (we used the mini's)
  • 1 1/2 c
    dried cranberries
  • 1 c
    coarsely chopped walnut (optional)

How To Make carol's choc-oat-cran-chip cookies

    Preheat oven 375 degrees. Combine flour, baking soda, spices and salt in a small bowl.

    Beat brown sugar, butter (or crisco and butter) and granulated sugar in large mixer bowl until creamy.

    Beat in eggs, milk and vanilla. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in oats, morsels, cranberries and nuts.

    Drop by rounded tablespoons onto greased or parchment paper cookie sheets. Bake for 9-10 minutes for chewy cookies or 12-13 for crispy cookies. Let stand for one minute; remove to wire racks to cool completely. We cooked them 10 min. and make sure you use parchment paper or grease well, they will stick otherwise.
